What happens at your first appointment
Your first appointment is with the pharmacist. They will examine both ears and check whether wax is present, and whether one ear or both need treatment. You will have time to ask questions and talk through anything that is bothering you.
If microsuction is needed, a follow-up appointment is arranged with the audiologist. The pharmacist will also give you advice to follow beforehand, to help soften and loosen the wax. This makes the removal itself simpler and more effective, so it is worth following closely.
